What we collect

When you complete the intake quiz, we collect: your name, your friend's name, your email address, and any dates you choose to share (date of passing, birthdays, upcoming events). We also collect your quiz answers to personalize your guide.

We do not collect payment information, social media accounts, or any information beyond what you provide directly.

How we use it

We use your information to send you your personalized guide, deliver timed reminder emails before key milestone dates, and improve the Go Beyond Sorry experience over time.

Third parties and data sharing

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

To operate this service, we use a small number of third-party tools that may process your information on our behalf. These include services for data storage, email delivery, and workflow automation. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform services for Go Beyond Sorry — not for their own purposes.

The tools currently used to operate Go Beyond Sorry include:

• Supabase (data storage)
• Make.com (workflow automation)
• Resend (email delivery)
• Lovable (website hosting and application infrastructure)

We do not knowingly share your information with any other third parties. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any new sharing takes place.

We do not knowingly collect information from users under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this service, please contact us at gobeyondsorry@gmail.com and we will remove it promptly.

Your friend's information

You may share your friend's name and personal dates with us to personalize your reminders. We treat this information with the same care as your own. We do not contact your friend directly or use their information for any purpose other than personalizing your reminders.

Emails

If you provide your email address, you will receive your guide and, if you opted in, timed milestone reminders. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every message. We will not send you marketing emails or share your email with any third party.

Data storage and security

Your information is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database provider. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to deliver the service you signed up for, including sending milestone reminder emails. We do not have an automated deletion process in place at this time. If you would like your information removed, please contact us at gobeyondsorry@gmail.com and we will delete it manually within 30 days of receiving your request.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at gobeyondsorry@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. We do not currently offer a self-service data deletion tool.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under GDPR or UK GDPR. Go Beyond Sorry is not currently designed or marketed for use outside the United States, and we make no representation that this service complies with the laws of any other jurisdiction. If you are accessing this service from outside the US, you do so at your own discretion.

Who this service is for

Go Beyond Sorry is intended for users in the United States aged 18 and over. By using this service, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in the United States.

A note on the information you share

The information you provide — including details about a friend's loss, personal dates, and relationship context — is sensitive. We treat it that way. It is used only to personalize your experience and deliver your reminders. It is not used for research, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating this service.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively change how we handle data you have already provided without notifying you.
